While you're out keeping it "kool" this summer, don't forget to help feed those in need. The summer months can be one of the hardest times for those in need, as the food bank shows a decrease in donations.
Utah Food Bank greatly appreciates all food donations as they are often the most nutritious, highly sought-after items we acquire. Those items include peanut butter, boxed meals and canned vegetables and fruits. Occasionally, we receive a unique donation that deserves special attention. This blog is dedicated to each special “Food Drive Item of the Day”.

Dye your Pickled Quail Eggs for Easter!
Miniature hard-boiled quail eggs are a fun one-bite cocktail party snack, especially when pickled and stained pink by grated beet. Simply make a quick pickling brine by boiling water, vinegar, sugar, salt, spices, and grated beet; cool; and pour over peeled, hard-boiled quail eggs. After a short 24-hour pickling time, the eggs will be ready for your next party. Try this make-ahead appetizer sprinkled with some fancy finishing salt.
